Auburn trails the overall series by a 37-46-1 record. n Auburn leads the Iron Bowl 17-10 when the game is played on campus and leads 7-5 in games played in Tuscaloosa. n Before 1989, the series was primarily played in Birmingham (Alabama leads 36-20-1) and Montgomery (series tied 2-2). n Gus Malzahn is 3-4 in Iron Bowl games as head coach. n This is the 24th meeting between ranked teams in series history and the seventh such game since 2010. n Ranked Auburn teams are 25-14 against Alabama all-time, including 14-9 against ranked Crimson Tide teams. n In Tuscaloosa, ranked Auburn teams are 4-2 all-time (1-2 when Alabama is also ranked). n Auburn all-time has a 5-11 record when facing the No. 1-ranked team in the AP poll. Gus Malzahn is 2-3 against No. 1-ranked teams as Auburn head coach. n Auburn holds an all-time football record of 97-51-2 against teams from the state of Alabama, including Alabama, UAB, Alabama A&M, Birmingham Southern, Camp Sheridan, Marion Institute, Maxwell Field, Montgomery, North Ala- bama A.C., Samford and Spring Hill. IN NOVEMBER n Auburn is 244-185-20 (.565) all-time in November. Away from Auburn, the Tigers are 139-146-15 (.488). n Auburn is 20-10 in November under Gus Malzahn. n Auburn is 4-8 on November 28 all-time and 2-4 on that date against SEC opponents. KICKOFF COVERAGE n The Auburn defense is the only defense in the SEC that has not given up more than 30 points in a game this season. n Auburn is one of only 12 teams nationally with two or more defensive touchdowns scored this season. n Colby Wooden leads the SEC with 8.5 TFL this season; Wooden has recorded at least 0.5 TFL in every game. As a team, Auburn is fourth in the SEC with 42.0 TFL. n Zakoby McClain is seventh in the SEC averaging 9.7 tackles per game (68 total) and Owen Pappoe is ninth in the conference with a 9.3 average (65 total). n Bo Nix’s 91-yard TD pass to Anthony Schwartz vs. LSU is tied for the longest pass play in the SEC and the third-longest in the FBS this season. n True freshman Tank Bigsby is fourth in the SEC in all-pur- pose average (131.0/gm) and has accounted for more than a quarter (11-39) of Au- burn’s plays of 20+ yards this season (8 KOR, 3 rush). Seth Williams has 11 receptions of 20+ yards as well this season. n Bigsby, whose 527 rushing yards rank fourth among all FBS freshmen, was the first Auburn freshman to rush for 100 yards in three consecutive games; previously only Bo Jack- son (1982) and Michael Dyer (2010) rushed for three 100- yard games against SEC opposition as Auburn freshmen. n The Tigers have committed the fewest turnovers (six) of any SEC team this season. n Smoke Monday is the SEC defensive player of the week for his 100-yard interception TD against Tennessee; Nick Brahms earned offensive lineman of the week honors grad- ing 85% with nine extra-effort plays. MORE TIGER STRIPES... n This marks the 14th season ESPN’s College GameDay has originated from the site of an Auburn football game. The Tigers are 10-11 all-time in those previous games. n The Tennessee game was Gus Malzahn’s 100th game as Auburn head coach. His first game was a 31-24 win over Washington State at Jordan Hare Stadium in 2013. n Malzahn is the fifth all-time to coach 100 games at Auburn; also Ralph “Shug” Jordan (265 games, 1951-75); Pat Dye (142 games, 1981-92); Mike Donahue (139 games, 1904-06, 1908-22); Tommy Tuberville (125 games, 1999-2008). n Since 2001, Auburn is 154-29 (.842) when scoring 20 or more points in a game. Dating back to 1993, Auburn is 210-37-1 (.842) when scoring 20 or more points. All-time, Auburn is 550-57-9 (.900) when scoring 20 points. n All-time, Auburn is 345-9 (.975) when scoring 30 points, 174-3 (.9758) when scoring 40 points, 81-0 when scoring 50 points and 27-0 when scoring 60 points. The Crimson Tide holds a 46-37-1 (.554) all-time advantage in the longstanding series that dates back to 1893. n The two teams will square off for just the 18th time in Tus- caloosa with the Tide currently riding a four-game winning streak at Bryant-Denny Stadium. n Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is 10-8 all-time against Auburn, including an 8-5 mark in the Iron Bowl. DOMINATING THE TOP 25 n Alabama’s 52-24 win over then-No. 13 Texas A&M on Oct. 3 was head coach Nick Saban’s 19th career win by 25-plus points against a ranked opponent. n That total ties Tom Osbourne for the second-most wins by 25-plus in the Associated Press Poll era (since 1936). n Saban is also tied with Osbourne for the all-time lead with 20 career wins by 20-plus points against AP top-15 oppo- nents, 17 of which have come while at Alabama. n The 52 points against the Aggies also tied for the fourth- most points by an Alabama team against a ranked oppo- nent under Saban. ALWAYS IN THE HUNT n Since the 2008 season, Alabama has played in 148 of 151 regular season games that have had national championship implications. n The final three games of the 2010 season marked the only three regular season contests without direct national cham- pionship implications over the last 13 seasons. 35-OR-MORE IN 20 STRAIGHT n The Crimson Tide scored 63 points in last Saturday’s match- up with Kentucky. That total marked the 20th straight game that Alabama’s offense has scored 35-or-more points, which is the longest streak in major-college football history. n Oregon scored at least 35 points in 15 consecutive games from Nov. 5, 2011 through a Nov. 17, 2012 loss to Stanford by a score of 17-14. n Alabama’s last game of not posting 35-or-more points came in the Tide’s 44-16 loss to Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Jan. 7, 2019. HARRIS FOR SIX n Najee Harris has racked up 16 rushing touchdowns in only seven games during the 2020 season. n Those 16 scores on the ground are the most in Alabama history across the first seven games to start a season. n The 16 rushing touchdowns are also the most by any South- eastern Conference player through seven games over the last 20 seasons. JONES STARTING AT AN IMPRESSIVE PACE n Through seven games this season, Mac Jones has totaled 2,426 yards and 18 touchdowns while sporting a 77.1 com- pletion percentage. n His passing yards are the most by any Alabama quarterback through the first seven games of a season in program his- tory, surpassing Tua Tagovailoa’s previous program mark of 2,166 passing yards through the first seven contests of 2019. TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS n Alabama’s defense forced one turnover in the Crimson Tide’s Nov. 21 contest against Kentucky, as Jordan Battle turned an interception into points for a 45-yard pick-six. n With the interception, the Crimson Tide has forced at least one turnover in 73 of the last 79 contests dating back to the start of the 2015 season. n During the current run, Alabama has forced 132 turnovers (87 interceptions, 45 fumbles) and returned 29 of those miscues for touchdowns. 10 POINTS OR LESS n Since that first season in Tuscaloosa, Saban-coached de- fenses have held the Crimson Tide’s opponents to 10 points or less on 93 occasions. n Dating back to the start of the 2015 season, UA’s defense has limited the opposition to 10 or fewer points 37 times across 79 total contests.
