< PreviousNEW C OMER Q&A: ZE’VIAN CAPERS 61 Q: What made Auburn stand out to you? A: I really liked the environment and the coaches. I thought the offense had great weapons and it was something I wanted to be a part of. I know that Coach Malzahn is trying to put something special together and I feel that we are close to achieving that. Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition? A: I don’t have a favorite Auburn tradition yet, but I’m looking forward to rolling Toomers for the first time. Q: Who first put a football in your hand and how have they shaped your playing career so far? A: It was my dad when I was six. Football wasn’t my first sport. I started playing soccer when I was four. I’m not really sure what made me switch but when I did, I started playing quarterback. I played a few different positions as I became taller and faster than the other kids my age. Q: Who is your biggest fan? A: My family are my biggest fans. They help to motivate and support me every day. It was great to be able to have them in the stands for my first game vs. Kentucky. Q: Do you have any hidden talents you would like to share with the Auburn family? A: A hidden talent that I have is that I can play the saxophone and I have been playing for three years now. Q: What is your go-to pregame music? Favorite pre-game snack? A: I like listening to Lil Baby before a game and I always drink an ice-cold Gatorade. It gets me ready to go out and give it my all for the team. Q: What are your biggest goals while you are here in the classroom and on the field? A: In the classroom, I would like to achieve and maintain a 3.5 grade-point average. On the field, I would like to be one of the best receivers in the nation and I want to win the Biletnikoff Award before I leave Auburn. Q: Which teammate has been the biggest role model so far? A: Seth Williams. I look up to him and the way he makes big plays in big moments. His ability to get open and score in the times we need it most is something we all look up to him for. Q: If you could sit down and have dinner with any Auburn legend who would you want it to be and why? A: I’d like to have dinner with Cam Newton. I met him last year and I found out he’s a really fun guy. He’s an Auburn legend with some incredible stories so I think he would be a great person to have dinner with. Q: Do you have a favorite football memory from high school you would like to share? A: I was a junior and we were down 21-14 and it was fourth and 21. I ran a slant to tie the game and we ended up winning, 35-21. Q: If you had a million dollars to do- nate to charity, where would you send it and why? A: Currently, I would use it to find a cure or vaccine for COVID-19. Q: If we made a movie about your life, what would you title it and who would you want to play you? A: I would title it Stepping Stones and even though he is no longer with us, I would want Chadwick Boseman to play me. Q: Do you have a favorite video game? A: My favorite video game is NBA2k. I really like playing with my friends during my free time and it’s a good way to relax. NEWCOMER Q&A BY ADAM POLLARD A UBURNTI G ERS.C O M ZE’VIAN CAPERS NEW C OMER Q&A: CAM RILEY 63 Q: What made Auburn stand out to you? A: Something big that stood out to me was that all the coach- es are real and made me feel like this was home. Every time I came on a visit, it was the same energy from each coach, not just one coach. Everyone had the same mindset throughout the whole recruiting process, so I felt like it was just home. It was a family vibe. Q: How was your first game in Jordan-Hare? A: I had chills. It was unbelievable coming straight from high school. That second at kickoff, I was like ‘Wow I am really playing my first college football game.’ It was a great experi- ence. It was just a moment that I kind of realized that not too many people get an opportunity to do something like this. It was special. Q: What is your favorite movie and why? A: I like Rush Hour, all the way through the third one. I would say probably the second one is my favorite. I like comedy and Chris Tucker is just funny. My second favorite movie would probably be The Sandlot. When I was younger, I would watch that movie like every day during the summertime. Q: If you have to be stuck on an island with three of your teammates, who would you pick and why? A: The first one would be Jeremiah Wright because he’s funny and I know we’ll get a laugh out of him. If you’re going to be stuck on an island and going to be with three people, you need at least one laugh. Desmond Tisdol because he’s just cool overall and is a good guy to be around. Elijah Canion because he’s just a cool guy to be around as well. Q: Which older teammate do you look up to the most and why? A: K.J. Britt. He was who I was around the most when I first got here, as far as linebackers. He was the veteran guy of our group because he’s the oldest. So that’s who I look up to. Q: What is your major and what is your biggest goal aca- demically while at Auburn? A: My major right now is business, but I am kind of still unde- cided. For now, I am aiming towards the business field. My main goal academically is I want to graduate at the top and I want to maintain A’s and B’s throughout my entire career. It’s a big goal for me. Q: Any pre-game rituals or superstitions? A: I listen to music. I listen to Lil Baby and YoungBoy. Q: What’s something people don’t know about you? A: I’m a good dancer alone, but I don’t let everybody see me dance. I can dance though. I’m a good dancer. Q: What sport would you play if you weren’t playing football? A: Track, I like running. Q: Biggest highlight of your career so far? A: The first game against Kentucky. That experience of the first game was my big- gest highlight so far. Q: What three words would you use to describe yourself? A: Humble, integrity and kind-hearted. Q: Who are you the biggest fan of and why? A: I’m going to have to go with LeBron James. I’m not a big basketball guy, but he did a lot of things for the community. He started schools back in his hometown and he donates a lot to the community. The things he has done have helped change the world in positive ways. Q: What is one of your biggest life goals outside of football? A: To give back. I want to give back to the community. I like helping other people more than I like helping myself.
