Auburn is the only SEC institution to allocate the majority of its limited capacity (17,490) tickets to students. n Auburn’s all-time Homecoming record is 81-8-4; the Tigers have won their last 28 Homecoming games. n Homecoming candidates: Madison Birckhead (Human Development & Family Science/ Charlottesville, VA); Alicia Peralta (Nursing/Opelika, AL); Barrett Ramsey (Manage- ment/Alpharetta, GA); Brooks Triplett (Human Develop- ment & Family Science/Savannah, GA); Kelsey Wynne (Architecture/Dallas, TX). n It will be Gus Malzahn’s 100th game as Auburn head coach. n His first game was a 31-24 win over Washington State at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2013. n During the Gus Malzahn era, Auburn is 9-1 after an open date during the regular season (8-1 in SEC games, 4-1 at home). SERIES HISTORY n The Tigers hold a 28-22-3 lead in the all-time series, and lead 7-3-1 in all games played at Auburn. The Tigers have won six of the last seven games in the series, although UT was a 30-24 winner in 2018 in Auburn in the teams’ most recent meeting. n Auburn and Tennessee played every year from 1956-91, but didn’t play from 1991 until the 1997 SEC champion- ship game because of league expansion and the rotating opponents’ setup. The two played in 1998-99 and 2003-04 before rotating off each other’s schedule until 2008-09. n From 1956-91, every meeting except 1968 was on the last Saturday of September. The two schools dominated the SEC in the mid-to-late 80s. In six of the eight seasons from 1983-90, either Auburn (1983-87-88-89) or Tennessee (1985-89-90) claimed an SEC championship. KICKOFF COVERAGE n The Auburn defense is the only defense in the SEC that has not given up more than 30 points in a game this season. n Derick Hall was the SEC defensive lineman of the week for his play against LSU, with four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. n Colby Wooden leads the SEC with 7.0 TFL this season; Wooden has recorded at least 0.5 TFL in every game. As a team, Auburn is fifth in the SEC with 36.0 TFL. n Zakoby McClain is fifth in the SEC with 62 total tackles; fel- low linebacker Owen Pappoe ranks ninth with 53 stops. n Bo Nix’s 91-yard TD pass to Anthony Schwartz vs. LSU is tied for the longest pass play in the SEC and the third-longest in the FBS this season. n Auburn is the only SEC team to rush for 200 yards in four straight games this season. n True freshman Tank Bigsby is third in the SEC in all-purpose average (148.83/gm) and has accounted for almost a third (11- 36) of Auburn’s plays of 20+ yards this season (8 KOR, 3 rush). Seth Williams has 11 receptions of 20+ yards as well this season. n Bigsby, whose 503 rushing yards is fourth among all FBS freshmen, was the first Auburn freshman to rush for 100 yards in three consecutive games; previously only Bo Jack- son (1982) and Michael Dyer (2010) rushed for three 100- yard games against SEC opposition as Auburn freshmen. n The postponement of Auburn-Mississippi State was the first postponement for the Tigers since 2001 following the events of 9/11, when the LSU game scheduled for Septem- ber 15 was moved to the end of the season. MORE TIGER STRIPES... n Auburn is 243-185-20 (.564) all-time in November. Au- burn’s November home record is 104-38-5 (.724). Away from Auburn, the Tigers are 139-146-15 (.488). Auburn is 19-10 in November under Gus Malzahn. Auburn is 8-9 on November 14 all-time and 4-8 on that date against SEC opponents. n Auburn has passed and rushed for over 200 yards in each of the last three games, averaging 213.0 rushing yards and 270.0 passing yards in those games for an average of 483.0 yards of total offense. It’s the first time the Tigers have passed and rushed for at least 200 yards in three straight games since doing so in four straight games in 2017. BOUNCING BACK n The Vols are seeking to snap a four-game losing streak. n Tennessee saw a 13-0 halftime lead at Arkansas slip away as the Razorbacks scored all 24 of their points in the third quarter in its last game (Nov. 7) in Fayetteville. YEAR 3 PRUITT ERA n Head coach Jeremy Pruitt is in his third season at the helm after orchestrating the Vols’ turnaround in 2019 that in- cluded six straight wins and a TaxSlayer Gator Bowl win over Indiana. n Pruitt, a five-time national champion as an assistant, owns a 15-16 mark overall. n Pruitt is the 26th head coach in UT history. n He guided the nation’s No. 1 defense in 2017, 2016 and 2013. He signed a top-10 recruiting class for the Vols in the spring of 2020, and UT currently has the eighth-best class nationally for 2021. n The 2020 season is the 13th year for Pruitt coaching in the SEC. TO’O TO’O THE LEADER OF THE DEFENSE n After a freshman All-America campaign, So. LB Henry To’o To’o leads the Vols in tackles (40) and tackles for loss (7.0) as a sophomore. n He’s tied for the SEC lead in tackles for loss with Auburn’s Colby Wooden. n In the season-opening win at South Carolina, he recorded his first career inter- ception and returned it 32 yards for a touch- down. n To’o To’o has recorded multiple tackles in 18 of the 19 career games he’s played. TREY SMITH ALL-AMERICA CANDIDATE n Offensive guard Trey Smith elected to re- turn for his senior sea- son and is an Outland Trophy candidate. n Smith has played in 38 career games with 37 starts, including 18 straight starts. n Last season, he did not allow a sack, and he has not allowed one in six starts this season. CBSSports.com projects him as a NFL first round pick. “JUICE” GRAY n So. RB Eric Gray has gone over 100 yards rushing in three of his six games this season, including 123 yards on 31 carries and one touchdown in his last outing at Arkansas. n He is averaging 101.3 yards per game on the ground in the last eight games dating back to last season. n Gray ranks ninth in the SEC in rushing yards per game this season (79.67). For his career, Gray owns four 100-yard rushing games. NOTING THE TENNESSEE-AUBURN SERIES n Tennessee and Auburn are meeting for the 54th time with the Tigers holding a 28-22-3 advantage. This is only the eighth meeting between the two teams since 2000. n Auburn has won six out of the last seven meetings, but UT won the last meeting, 30-24, in Jeremy Pruitt’s first season on Oct. 13, 2018, when the Vols stunned the then-No.21 ranked Tigers on the Plains. That was UT’s first win at Au- burn since the Vols’ 1998 championship season. n This is the 12th meeting between the two teams in Jor- dan-Hare Stadium with Auburn leading 7-3-1 all-time. The first contest between the two in Auburn occurred in 1974. The 12 previous meetings in the state of Alabama happened in Birmingham. n This the latest the two teams have met on the calendar since the 2004 SEC Championship Game (Dec. 4). n A total of 317 miles separate the two campuses. n Jeremy Pruitt is seeking to become just the second Ten- nessee head coach to defeat Auburn in his first two tries, joining Phillip Fulmer, who did it against the then-No. 11 Tigers in the 1997 SEC Championship Game and then vs. an unranked Auburn team a year later on the Plains in 1998. n A win would give Tennessee back-to-back wins over Auburn for the first time since 1998-99. It would also be the first back-to-back wins at Auburn in program history. SCOUTING TENNESSEE A UBURNTI G ERS.C O M Henry To’o To’o A UBURN TIGERS ROS TER 9 No. Name Pos. Ht. Wt. Yr.
