TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE2019 FRISCO BOWL Lewis is in his second year as head coach of the Golden Flashes and is the youngest head coach in the FBS • He came to Kent State after serving as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Syracuse and has completely revamped the Flashes offense. • Under Lewis, the Golden Flashes improved their scoring offense by 11.2 points per game and 108.4 yards per game in his first season, only to improve on that in 2019 by another 3.5 points per game and 42.0 yards per game. • As quarterbacks coach, Lewis has helped junior Dustin Crum to the highest completion percentage (68.29%) and best pass efficiency (194.67) in program history as well as cracking the top- 10 in completions (196), yards (2,336), passing touchdowns (18) and total offense (3,111). • Lewis has improved the Golden Flashes in recruiting as well, putting together the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the Mid-American Conference in 2019. • Lewis has instilled family values in the team in the classroom as well.
