The first meeting between the teams came in the first round of the 2012 playoffs when Stony Brook tallied a 20-10 home victory. The very next season Stony Brook visited Villanova Stadium where the Wildcats registered a 35-6 win on Sept, 21, 2013, while last year the Seawolves earned a 29-27 home victory. WELCOME TO VILLANOVA: Stony Brook will be making just its second ever trip to Villanova Stadium for this Satur- day’s CAA contest. The Seawolves only other trip to Villanova came on Sept. 21, 2013, when the Wildcats registered a 35-6 win. BACK TO WORK: Villanova returns to action this week after having a bye last Saturday. The Wildcats are 14-5 in the last 19 games coming off a bye. This is the team’s second bye of the season. Villanova registered a 38-10 win against Lehigh in the second game of the year after having a bye on Labor Day Weekend. HOMECOMING HISTORY: It is Homecoming Weekend at Villanova and the Wildcats will be trying to continue their historical success in the annual Homecoming football game. Villanova enters play on Saturday versus Stony Brook with a 34-20 (.629) all-time record on Homecoming Weekend. TOUGH BREAK: Villanova will be without the services of one of its top offensive players for the remainder of the sea- son. Junior running back Justin Covington will be sidelined for the rest of the year with a knee injury suffered in the first half of the William & Mary game on Oct. 5. At the time of the injury, Covington was leading all of FCS Football in rushing. In the six games he played in this season, Covington had 90 carries for 727 yards (8.1 avg.) and three touchdowns. PULLING RANK: After beginning the year unranked, Villa- nova is in the Top 5 in the STATS FCS Top 25 at No. 5 in this week’s poll. The Wildcats are one of four CAA teams ranked in the poll (No. 2 JMU, No. 16 Towson, No. 19 Delaware). 100-YARD RECEIVER: In Villanova’s last outing at James Madison on Oct. 12, junior wide receiver Changa Hodge turned in the best game of his Wildcat career. In the 38-24 loss, Hodge tallied a career-high eight receptions for a career- best 134 yards and a career-high two touchdowns. The touch- downs came from 43 and 10 yards. This was his second career 100-yard receiving game. For the year, Hodge is tied for the team lead with 26 catches for a team-high 395 yards and a team-high tying five touchdowns. YOUTHFUL BACKFIELD: Due to injuries, the Wildcat back- field is now being occupied by the true freshmen duo of Dee- Wil Barlee and TD Ayo-Durojaiye. Together, the pair have tal- lied 63 carries for 331 yards (5.2 avg.) and three touchdowns to go with 10 receptions for 54 yards and a score. Barlee has played in all six games and has 44 rushes for 269 yards (6.1 avg.) and three touchdowns along with four catches for 45 yards and a touchdown. Durojaiye has seen time in four games and has 19 carries for 62 yards (3.3 avg.) and one catch for nine yards.
