Since then he has not left a single stone unturned in tire- lessly working to change the culture of the program, exerting his influence on every area of the organization in order to continue the success he’s had in his previous stops. Brown was the coach at Troy from 2015-18 and was 35-16 with the Trojans. Yet from his opening press conference in Morgantown, he made it clear he understands and has a belief in the Mountaineer Mentality. Faith, Family, Future, Fun and Football are central tenets of his vision for the culture of the program. Upon his hiring, Brown established a relationship with members of his current roster and those who signed in December, making sure they understood his expectations for them and the program. He then built a staff comprised of people with experience at the Power 5 level and ones who understood his vision and have been a part of it and its success and hit the recruiting trail. Thirteen starters and 40 letterwinners return from last year’s 8-4 team. With his first spring in Morgantown behind him, Brown and the Mountaineers have accomplished a lot, but there is much more to do heading into the 2019 season with a challenging non-confer- ence slate and the always tough Big 12 Conference looming.
