It is 1-3 in its previous four appearances. Its lone win was in 2002 when Philip Rivers led the Wolfpack to a 28-6 victory over Notre Dame. n This will be the third-ever meeting between NC and Kentucky. NC State lost to Kentucky, 27-2, the last time they met on October 31, 1970 in Lexington, Ky. n The Wolfpack are 3-2 in bowl games under head coach Dave Doeren. Its last bowl trip was in 2018 when the Wolfpack lost to Texas A&M, 52-13, in the Gator Bowl. NC State is 17-14-1 all-time in 32 trips to bowl games. n The Wolfpack has faced five ranked opponents in 2020 (Virginia Tech, Pitt, UNC, Miami and Liberty). Jordan-Hare Stadium (17,490) Game 1 Terry Wilson passed for 239 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 42 yards, but No. 23 Kentucky lost its season opener, falling at No. 8 Auburn 29-13. Wilson was 24 of 37 through the air, connecting with Josh Ali nine times for 98 yards. Kroger Field (12,000) Game 2 Kentucky rushed for 408 yards and six touchdowns, but the Wildcats fell to Ole Miss 42- 41 in overtime at Kroger Field. UK got career-high rushing ef- forts from Chris Rodriguez Jr., who had 133 yards and two touch- downs, Terry Wilson, who had 129 yards and three touchdowns, and Asim Rose, who had 117 yards on the ground and a TD. Kroger Field (12,000) Game 3 The Kentucky defense forced six turnovers and held Mississip- pi State to just two points as the Cats won for the first time this season by beating the Bulldogs 24-2 at Kroger Field. UK held the Bulldogs to the fewest points that any Mike Leach-coached team has ever scored. Neyland Stadium (22,519) Game 4 Kentucky returned two in- terceptions for touchdowns in the first half and the UK defense held No. 18 Tennessee in check the entire game as the Cats broke a 17-game losing streak in Knox- ville by beating the Vols 34-7 at Neyland Stadium. Memorial Stadium (11,738) Game 5 Missouri’s defense held Ken- tucky in check all day as the Tigers broke a five-game losing streak to the Cats by winning 20- 10 at Faurot Field. Kentucky (2-3, 2-3 SEC) amassed only 145 yards of of- fense in the game. The Cats had 98 yards on the ground and 47 through the air. Kroger Field (12,000) Game 6 Chris Rodriguez Jr. rushed for 108 yards and the Kentucky defense held No. 5 Georgia in check but the Bulldogs did just enough to beat the Cats 14-3. Other than Rodriguez’s ef- fort, the Wildcats struggled on offense. Kroger Field (12,000) Game 7 Chris Rodriguez Jr. carried 13 times for a career-high 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Kentucky beat Vanderbilt 38-35. Kentucky (3-4, 3-4 SEC) rushed for 308 yards as a team in the game, the second-highest to- tal for the Cats this season.
