I would walk in Alex Morgan’s cleats – she is the captain of the US Women’s National Soccer Team. I played soccer grow- ing up, and always looked up to Alex during the Olympics and World Cup tournaments. She is very talented, but also is one of the hardest working people on the field. What does it mean to be on the Homecoming Court? It is truly such an honor. I am so grateful for this opportunity and am glad we are still holding on to some traditions during a challenging year. I’ve loved getting to meet new friends through the campaign, and hope that students felt encour- aged and uplifted by my platform! What has been your favorite class at Auburn and why? I took Digital Marketing last year and loved it. We were cer- tified in several different marketing and analytics platforms, learned how to come up with target profiles, and how best to engage with customers online. In a world where so much has shifted online, this course was very practical and relevant. I have decided that I want to go into the digital and social me- dia marketing industry after I graduate. Describe Auburn to someone who has never been here. Auburn is fun, beautiful, and welcoming. I did not know much about Auburn before coming to school here, but I had high hopes of belonging in the Auburn Family. Four years lat- er, I can confidently say that the Auburn Family is real, and I’ve found my place here! The community is kind and welcoming, students love it and want to be involved in all different areas and everyone looks after each other. BROOKS TRIPLETT HOMETOWN: SAVANNAH, GA. MAJOR/SCHOOL: HUMAN DEVELOPMENT & FAMILY SCIENC- ES/COLLEGE OF HUMAN SCIENCES If you could play any position in football, what would you play and why? I would play weak side linebacker. I am 6-2 so I feel like this position would suit me with my height and strength. What is your major and what made you want to pursue it? My major is Human Development and Family Sciences. I chose to pursue this major because I have always had a passion for people. This curriculum allowed me the chance to understand how and why humans develop. I believe that this knowledge will continue to serve me well as I continue into Higher Education. I can serve students better because I un- derstand where they are in terms of their emotional, physical, and cognitive development. What is your favorite Auburn tradition and why? My favorite Auburn tradition is getting lemonade at Toom- er’s Corner. Both of my parents are alumni and for as long as I could remember we have stopped in Toomer’s to get a small peach lemonade every time we were in town. Even now as a student if I’m having a bad day, I will walk down to Toomer’s and get a small lemonade and it always make me feel at home and resets me. If you could walk in someone else’s shoes for a day, who would it be and why? If I could walk in someone else’s shoes for a day, it would probably be my 15-year-old self. I wish I could go back and tell her all the incredible things that life is going to bring her in the next couple of years. I would want to warn her of some things and give her some much-needed advice. I would also love to see the look on her face when I told her that she would be in Top 5 Miss Homecoming at Auburn University. I know she wouldn’t believe it. I wish I could have the chance to go back and remind her to take each day one at a time and remind her to be thankful for the people who love her and support her. I feel very grateful and blessed for the life that I have been given. I just wish I knew then what I know now! What does it mean to be on the Homecoming Court? For me personally, this is a difficult question to answer sim- ply because the idea of making it to Top 5 for Miss Homecom- ing was never something that I imagined for myself. In short, this nomination and the ability to campaign is simply another avenue for me to advocate on behalf of Auburn students. My platform focuses on the Auburn Cares, an organization on campus that provide support for Auburn students in crisis. As a student who has battled my own personal crises, I want other students to know of the resources available to them. This opportunity is unlike any other and I’m excited to impact students through this experience. What has been your favorite class at Auburn and why? My favorite class taken at Auburn has to be interpersonal relationships with Dr. Jamie Sailors. This was an HDFS re- quired course and it really opened my eyes to see what human interaction should look like and how important interpersonal development is. I learned one of life’s greatest lessons in this A UBURNTI G ERS.C O M (continued from page 23) 2020 HOMECOMING COURT (continued on page 63)2020 S T ADIUM MAP 53 2020 STADIUM MAP A UBURNTI G ERS.C O MTHE OFFICIAL HOME FOR AUBURN UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS and SPORTSCALL TIGER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. 2514 South College Street, Suite 104 • Auburn, AL 36830 334.887.9999 127443-19 TIger Communications_Auburn Football Illustrated Ad.indd 18/13/19 11:48 AM2020 A UBURN P ARKING MAP 55 2020 AUBURN PARKING MAP A UBURNTI G ERS.C O MAUBURN - ATLANTA pursuitengineering.com Your Local MEP Design Firm Currently Hiring Experienced ME’s & EE’s Boatner Builders, LLC.
